Top 7 Laptops for Realtors and Real Estate Agents

Let’s not keep you guessing any longer. Here are our favorite laptops for realtors.

1. Powerful & Portable with the Latest CPU: Acer Swift Go

Acer Swift Go

  • CPU: 1.7GHz Intel Core i7-1355U
  • RAM: 16GB DDR5
  • Storage: 512GB SSD
  • Display: 14-inch WUXGA (1920 x 1200)
  • GPU: Integrated ‎Intel Iris Xe
  • Battery: Up to 10 hours

If you find yourself working mainly in an office but also go out on the terrain, then Acer Swift Go might be for you. This laptop for realtors is powerful, portable, and comes with a great cooling system.

Swift houses one of the latest Intel Core processors, the 13th Gen. i7 — which is awesome for this price range. Paired with an integrated GPU, this laptop can do a lot. Besides everyday tasks and e-signing docs, it will easily handle CRM software and light-to-mid photo editing if you’re doing marketing on your own.

In my tests, Swift lasted about 10 hours on a single charge. The laptop is pretty portable, too, since it weighs only 2.76 lbs, which is lighter than a MacBook Air. So when you’re out and about, it’s pretty easy to carry — and it will last throughout the day.

For doc or property viewing, you’ll be looking at a 14” display that’s very color-accurate, crisp, and bright. Personally, I like smaller screens, but they may not be everyone’s cup of tea.

The design does feel a little blocky and outdated, and I can see it becoming a problem if you need to present a property to a client. First impressions matter, so maybe it’s worth considering what your clients (dis)like.

If the outdated design is not an issue, Acer Swift Go will return the investment over and over. It’s an excellent laptop for all the realtors who appreciate power and portability.

  • What We Like
  • Long battery life
  • Lightweight
  • Great processor
  • Awesome display
  • Good cooling system

  • What We Don’t Like

2. Versatile and Reliable 2-in-1: ASUS Vivobook S Flip

ASUS Vivobook S Flip

  • CPU: 3.3GHz AMD Ryzen 5 5600H
  • RAM: 8GB DDR4
  • Storage: 512GB SSD
  • Display: 14-inch WUXGA (1920 x 1200)
  • GPU: Integrated ‎Intel Iris Xe
  • Battery: Up to 9 hours

Vivobook is a well-known and popular ASUS lineup, and the S Flip model is a convertible laptop for realtors. Besides touchscreen capabilities, Vivobook S Flip also brings good portability, storage, and strong performance.

Under the hood, this device packs a strong Ryzen 5 processor and an integrated Intel Iris GPU. It will do all the office tasks smoothly and easily: opening and closing the docs, doing the deliverables, emails and e-signing, or uploading ads.

Moreover, you can do all of these on a 14” touchscreen display that is super-responsive and flips back 360°. I generally like to shake things up and make them more interactive; and it’s a cool way to show property to your clients.

If you’re going out of the office, I believe you’d like to know that Vivobook is pretty portable. With a mere 3 lbs of weight and around 8-9 hours of battery life, it’s super easy to pack into a bag and carry. Plus, it will last all workday.

I’m also a fan of ASUS design. The chassis looks modern, elegant, with gorgeous thin bezels.

As for RAM, 8GB will be enough for most tasks. However, this is quickly becoming mainstream, so if you want to future-proof the laptop — and up the performance — I’d upgrade to 16GB.

To sum up, with Vivobook S Flip, you’ll be getting one of the most popular and proven productivity laptops that works great for realtors.

3. Reliable & Secure: Dell Inspiron 3530

Dell Inspiron 3520

  • CPU: 1.7GHz Intel Core i7-1355U
  • RAM: 16GB DDR5
  • Storage: 1TB SDD
  • Display: 15.6-inch FHD Touch (1920 x 1080)
  • GPU: Integrated Intel Iris Xe
  • Battery: Up to 6 hours

Dell’s newest Inspiron is quite the looker — and performer. This laptop for realtors brings a wonderful display, reliable performance, and great design.

Inspiron 3530 is run by a 13th Gen. Intel Core i7 and Intel Iris Xe, just like Acer Swift Go. However, Inspiron also houses 16GB of fast DDR5 RAM.

This means that the laptop will fly across office tasks, emails, and real-estate platforms like Propertybase or Wise Agent

Moreover, Inspiron has a large, 15.6” touchscreen display that’s high-quality, color-accurate and antiglare. It’s an excellent panel for editing photos and then showing them to interested parties.

I also like that there’s 1TB of storage. That’s plenty of space for both docs and media files.

Inspiron comes with a thin and sleek design. The chassis weighs 3.6 lbs, which is nothing for a 15.6” laptop. However, do note that the lid is a fingerprint magnet.

I also wish the battery was a bit better. Eight hours of battery life is still pretty good, but touchscreen capabilities will draw it faster, so make sure to have a charger nearby.

All in all, the Dell Inspiron 3530 is a serious laptop for realtors who work with professional platforms and also need portability. It’s a reliable choice for office tasks, property viewing, with just a little bit of that touchscreen flair added to the mix.

4. Beautiful 14″ Screen: ASUS Zenbook 14

ASUS Zenbook 14

  • CPU: 1.7GHz Intel Core i5-1240P
  • RAM: 8GB DDR4
  • Storage: 1TB SSD
  • Display: 14-inch 2.8K (2880x 1800)
  • GPU: Integrated Intel Iris Xe
  • Battery: Up to 11 hours

Perhaps, above anything else, you want your realtor laptop to have an amazing screen. Well, look no further — ASUS Zenbook comes with a gorgeous panel, great performance, and a very elegant look.

The star of the show is a truly amazing 14” OLED display with high resolution, great contrast, good brightness and vivid colors. It’s a wonderful display for work or viewing photos and videos, and will surely leave a great impression on anyone who sees it.

Zenbook runs on a 12th Gen. i5, Intel Iris GPU, and 8GB RAM. It’s a very standard combo that will zap through everyday and general tasks, entertainment, pics, and emails. However, if you want to further boost performance, I’d recommend upgrading the RAM to 16GB.

I thought Zenbook 14 looks very sleek and even slightly futuristic with an integrated numpad. Not only is this a practical solution for number crunchers — it can also be a great conversation starter with your clients.

With only 3 lbs of weight and awesome 10-11 hours of battery life, Zenbook 14 is among the more portable laptops on this. It fits snugly into a backpack and lasts all day.

To sum up, if you don’t mind the smaller screen, with Zenbook 14, you’re getting one of the best displays on the list and a laptop for realtors that is reliable, portable, and elegant.

  • What We Like
  • Amazing OLED display

5. Ultralight with 17″ Display: LG gram 17

LG gram 17

  • CPU: 2.2GHz Intel Core i7-1360P
  • RAM: 16GB DDR5
  • Storage: 1TB SSD
  • Display: 17.3-inch WQXGA (2560 x 1600)
  • GPU: Integrated Intel Iris Xe
  • Battery: Up to 12 hours

So you want to wow your clients, but would also like a powerful, portable laptop for realtors? LG Gram it is; when it comes to Windows productivity laptops, this one has to be among the most impressive ones.

To start with, Gram sports a high-quality 17.3” WQXGA display that’s also very color-accurate and crisp. It’s a wonderful panel for boasting properties and letting the pics shine and do the talking.

Under the hood, Gram 17 packs a 13th Gen. i7 and 16GB of fast DDR5 RAM, just like the latest Dell Inspiron above. Gram is more than capable of handling realtor tasks: from platforms to CRM, e-signing, heavy databases, and all the way to photo editing and ad preparation.

But the real feat LG engineers did concerns portability. This 17.3” laptop weighs only 2.98 lbs. That’s insane for a laptop this big! And, of course, super easy to carry around.

Moreover, the battery life is ridiculous. Gram comes in at 12 hours of juice on a single charge, which I find great, considering the specs.

You should know that occasionally, because of the thin profile, Gram 17 will get hot. This is mainly with heavier tasks, but I’d have a good cooling pad nearby, just in case.

LG Gram may be a bit pricier, but it’s so worth it. It’s one laptop for realtors that is bound to last for years and be super practical in everyday life.

  • What We Like
  • High-quality 17” panel
  • Ultralightweight
  • Super-long battery life
  • Strong performance
  • Great I/O

6. Affordable 17″ Option with Touchscreen: HP 17

HP 17

  • CPU: 1.7GHz Intel Core i7-1255U
  • RAM: 16GB DDR4
  • Storage: 512GB SSD
  • Display: 17.3-inch HD+ (1600 x 900)
  • GPU: Integrated Intel Iris Xe
  • Battery: Up to 7 hours

Say you kinda liked the LG Gram but don’t want to spend that much — and you prefer a touchscreen? Well, HP 17 is a great choice then.

HP 17 comes with a 17” touchscreen display that’s pretty responsive and crisp. With a large display size and touchscreen properties, property pics and videos become much more interactive and interesting.

For this model, HP decided on a 12th-gen. i7, Intel Iris GPU, and 16GB RAM. It’s a pretty capable combo that can easily do all the tasks in a realtor’s office.

I also love the new HP 17’s design. The previous HP had designer specks on the chassis, but sadly, they looked more like stubborn dust. Luckily, HP switched it up, so now we have a much more elegant, compact look.

Still, a big display and powerful specs did impact portability. HP 17 weighs around 5.4 lbs, and I got about 7 hours of battery life. So, if portability is important to you, I’d look at some of the 14” models on this list.

But, for the price you pay, the HP 17 sure offers a lot. It brings an amazing value for money, not in the least only because of the large touchscreen. With great performance, an elegant design, and a comfy keyboard, this budget laptop for realtors is a winner.

  • What We Like
  • 17.3” touchscreen display
  • Strong performance
  • Compact design
  • Full-size keyboard with numpad
  • Solid build quality
  • Affordable
  • What We Don’t Like

7. Professional Performance: Apple MacBook Air M2 15

Apple MacBook Air M2 15

  • CPU: 3.5GHz 8-core M2
  • RAM: 8GB DDR5
  • Storage: 256GB SSD
  • Display: 15.3-inch Retina (2880 x 1864)
  • GPU: Integrated Apple 10-core GPU
  • Battery: Up to 18 Hours

Only a handful of laptops spell “professional” like the MacBook does. The latest Air M2 15 comes with a wonderful display, powerful performance, and incredible design.

The newest iteration of Air finally got the 15” display we’ve all been waiting for! The 15.3” Retina display is great to look at: clear, crisp, contrasty, with deep, rich colors, and not straining the eyes, even after long hours of work.

MacBook Air runs on Apple’s M2 chip and a 10-core GPU. The M2 chip does wonders with both everyday and more demanding tasks. Whether you’re viewing the docs and media, e-signing docs, or using Contactually, Air M2 will handle it. You can even do a pretty good photo/video editing on this machine.

I also love the Air’s design. The laptop is thin, sleek, sturdy — and lightweight.

It also packs an unbelievable battery life: I got around 17-18 hours on a single charge. Yep, you read that right. Of course, the actual hours will depend on the workload, but I don’t expect you’d get under 14 hours of juice, which is still a lot.

Now, we all know that MacBooks are notoriously non-upgradable. While you do get iCloud, make sure that the initial 256GB on Air M2 works for you — or opt for a higher-end model.

But seriously, the MacBook Air M2 is one of the best laptops for realtors you can get, especially with a new-and-improved 15” display. It will keep dazzling the buyers for many years to come.

  • What We Like
  • Awesome performance
  • Gorgeous 15” Retina display
  • Super-long battery life
  • Lightweight

Buying Guide for Laptops for Realtors and Real Estate Agents

Before we jump to the laptop reviews, I want to show you a few important aspects that will help you find your ideal match.

So here we go:

1. Performance Should Be Your Top Priority

Whether you’re adding listings to the MLS, drafting documents, or working on spreadsheets, you need a device that can keep up the pace. So, investing in a powerful and future-proof CPU is super-important.

That said, I’d advise you to look into some of the latest generations of Intel Core i7 or AMD Ryzen 7 processors. The chips would easily slice through any task you might do as a realtor.

If those are above your budget, getting a lower-grade Intel Core i5 or AMD equivalent processor should work just fine. And yes, there are some great mid-range laptops for just under $800 with these CPUs.

2. Consider a Portable Laptop With a Long Battery Life

I’m not a realtor myself, but I’m pretty sure that portability plays a crucial role in your life. After all, the house is not going to sell itself by you staying all day in the office, and you don’t want to strain your shoulders from carrying a stone-heavy laptop on-site.

That’s why our list consists of so many lightweight and thin laptops. As a general rule of thumb, a laptop that weighs around 3 lbs is considered pretty good for working on the go.

But portability means squat if you have to look for a power socket every couple of hours. As a ballpark, a laptop with a good battery life should last between 8 and 12 hours of productivity work

But, if you want the very best, the new Apple MacBook Air M2 has enough battery juice to last a full day and is one of the lightest 15-inch laptops money can buy.

3. Choose Your Ideal Display

Since you’ll be spending plenty of hours looking at the laptop’s screen, choosing one with good quality that fits your preferences is always important.

The 15.6-inch Full HD IPS (1920×1080) displays are the most common in laptops these days, and it’s pretty much the sweet spot if you’re looking for a balance between price, portability, and visual quality. Depending on your needs, you can also choose smaller 14-inch displays for better portability, or if you want more screen space, I’d look into larger 17-inch options.

Most importantly, make sure that the display you’re getting comes with at least an IPS feature, as those have better viewing angles and higher image quality. Of course, IPS displays don’t offer the visual brilliance of OLEDs and Apple’s Retina displays, but they are usually much more affordable.

Finally, if you care about the aesthetics and appreciate the extra screen-to-body ratio, I’d recommend some of the thin-bezel laptops.

4. Get Enough RAM and Storage

Let’s take a little step back and bring performance to the table again. Yeah, that’s right, RAM plays a crucial role in your laptop’s overall performance, especially for multitasking and handling loads of data simultaneously.

8GB could be enough for handling day-to-day activities, e-mailing, and e-signing docs. But I always recommend getting a 16GB RAM laptop for future-proofing and faster performance.

Storage is another important component that can improve a laptop’s overall performance, especially SSDs (Solid State Drive).

What do I mean by this? Well, because of the improved performance and reliability, most new laptops come with an SSD, so it’s not a thing you should dwell on (except for the size, of course). But if you’re getting an older version or a refurbished one with an HDD (Hard Disk Drive) in it, you should think about replacing it asap.

5. Determining Your Budget

This is probably the most obvious point, but nonetheless, one of the most important ones. Since there are countless models to choose from, a predetermined budget will help you narrow down your options and realize what you can realistically get within your price range.

The good news is – realtors don’t need a super-expensive machine to get the job done.

FAQs about Laptops for Realtors and Real Estate Agents

Let’s answer some of the most common questions realtors ask us about laptops:

Are Mac laptops good for realtors?

Absolutely yes. MacBooks are known for their consistent performance, reliability, and build quality. Not only that, they are relatively portable and offer the best battery life on the market.

So, all things considered, the MacBooks are great all-round machines for realtors. The only downside is their hefty price tag.

How much storage do I need on my laptop?

The exact amount of storage you need depends on your specific needs. For instance, if you store all documents on cloud services, you’re good with 128GB of storage. On the other hand, if you want to store all your media files locally, we recommend getting a laptop with a minimum of 512GB of space.

Are Chromebooks suitable for realtors?

Generally speaking, it depends. Chromebooks are super affordable, easy to use, and usually more portable than regular laptops.

However, they come with their own limitations since they only work with web-based applications. So, they may not be the best fit if you don’t always have access to the internet or you work with apps that are not available on ChromeOS.

Before deciding if a Chromebook is a good option for you, I’d suggest making a careful assessment of the work you plan to do.

Should I get a 2-in-1 device?

2-in-1 devices are worth considering if you enjoy the power and convenience of traditional laptops, but also don’t want to miss out on the tablet experience.

These devices can be practical for media consumption, browsing, and doing other tasks on the go. So, whether you should get one ultimately depends on how you plan to use it.
